To form dedicated clergy and religious who are rooted in Christ, inspired by love for the Church, and courageous in building an equal, just, compassionate and ecologically responsible society—so that the Kingdom of God may become visible in the realities of our time.
A Church that listens.A generation that responds.
Where prayer becomes listening, discernment becomes freedom, and a young heart discovers the courage to say yes.
Across Tamil Nadu, the Commission strengthens vocation promoters, accompanies young people and unites the Church in nurturing priestly, religious and missionary vocations.

One sacred call. A shared responsibility.
The TNLBC Commission for Vocation brings dioceses, parishes, seminaries, religious congregations, vocation promoters, families and lay collaborators into a living communion of prayer and mission. Its ministry is not merely to recruit, but to create places where a young person can listen deeply, ask honest questions and discern God’s invitation without fear.
Through formation, camps, seminars, catechesis, accompaniment and collaboration, the Commission seeks to nurture credible witnesses who can awaken generosity in the next generation.
Ten commitments that shape our vocation ministry
Each commitment moves vocation promotion from an occasional programme to a sustained culture of prayer, witness, formation and accompaniment.
Help vocation promoters grow in psycho-spiritual maturity.
Make the life and witness of promoters a credible invitation to new vocations.
Form responsible guides who listen to and respect the wisdom of the lay faithful.
Take vocation camps to villages and mission areas.
Help socially conscious Catholic students discern through prayer, seminars and camps.
Strengthen catechesis in schools wherever opportunity is available.
Engage parents, catechists, religious and parish priests as active collaborators.
Equip promoters to understand Tamil Nadu’s social, economic, political and cultural realities.
Build a ministry that works beyond divisions and differences in society.
Establish or reactivate a vibrant vocation commission in every diocese.
Leadership that stands close to the mission
These moments express the Commission’s ecclesial belonging, shared prayer and pastoral collaboration.
